In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Drop a link to your wish-list in this post. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Maybe you will grant a wish.

I'm terrible about talking about things I want. I mean, I'm not exactly holding anyone at point blank range and forcing them to DO THESE THINGS FOR ME, but we very much live in a culture where asking for things for yourself is "selfish", as opposed to, you know, a very human concept. But, you know what, I do want things, and maybe someone out there wants a reason to make things.

Along that line, if you participate today, please, please, please link me to your post! I'll be checking the masterlist when it's posted, but if I can make you something, I'd really like to.

1. I'd always love more things focusing on Dean and his feelings - particularly fanmixes and fanifcs - because, honestly, look at that man. How has he not jumped off a bridge yet? I've talked about this with [livejournal.com profile] hbics since November because I'm not sure if I've gone too far. It plays around with the topic of dependency (on prescription drugs). Her prompt was quite hopeful. Oops.

So yes. Anything Dean-centric, particularly fanmixes or fics. I'll even take recs, if you have them! :)

2. Shockingly, I'm going to discuss a fandom other than Supernatural now. In XMFC, Charles is very, very often told that he doesn't understand. If you follow me on twitter, you know this pisses me off a lot. He is a goddamn telepath, he knows exactly how everyone feels.

It angers me that Erik and Raven are all FUCK YEAH MUTANTS, BE PROUD!!! but they both tell Charles not to use his. Because it makes them uncomfortable. Which is exactly what they're against. Which makes them hypocrites.

I'd like fanworks focusing on how this affects Charles. Why doesn't he ever call them out on their hypocrisy? Why does he just accept it, and then accept it when Raven bitches at him being all naked and blue? Why does Raven seem to think someone who is basically her brother is more uncomfortable with her blueness than the fact she refuses to wear clothes? Why is Erik so handsome but still so creepy?

3. Thirdly, I'd love to discuss headcanons! Or. Anything, really. Let's discuss whether or not Erik is right. Let's discuss whether or not the Impala is a more important character than Castiel.

But I would really like more people to discuss their headcanons. I love seeing the way people interpret things. Tell me in the comments or make a post somewhere and link me to it, but come on, I want to know! What do you think Dean did while Sam was at Stanford? What do you think the boys childhoods were like? Do you think Charles and Erik were together? Do you think Erik actually understood Charles at all? Why is Raven so anti-clothes? What do you think Blaine's family are like? Do you think Rachel is all that she seems? Share it!

Even if you don't think I'm part of that fandom, or you know for a fact I've never even seen that show/film/whatever. You never know, someone else might take a look at the comments/your post/whatever and think "OMG SO TRUE THIS PERSON IS MY GOD I SHOULD WORSHIP THEM".

Or maybe they'll just say "ia".

4. Technically not fannish, but rn I'm trying to write an outline of my crossover big bang fic and while I know my plot, I'm really struggling with this. Tips? Tricks? Anything?

Well, presumably, without Castiel, Dean would have been stuck in Hell. Though I feel this could have been better prevented. And actually, no. Castiel was not necessary. Not for that purpose, anyway because the Angels of Doom would have found another way to bring back Michael's vessel, Castiel or no. While I do agree that he played a big part in getting Sam and Dean where they needed to be in order to prevent Lucifer from reigning on earth, I still say that they would always come back, and Dean would always say no, and they would always find a way. So the Impala... Personally, and I hope I'm not cursing myself here, my heart is closer to Castiel, but Miss Impala IS the more important character.

Yeah I agree. It's time to put Cas to rest. I just pray to god that Misha gets another amazing role somewhere. I know he's family, but... a lot of people on that show are family. And he can come back, eventually, for a fun cameo!Cas.

Exactly. She's been there from the start, she's always helping them, and yes, I think Dean would go crazy without her. I think that if he didn't have the Impala, there'd have been nothing to ground him in the times when Sam was gone.

And speaking of Sam being gone, while my stomach is momentarily feeling fine, what I think happened while Sam was at Stanford? I think Dean did what the Winchester men do when the loves of their lives are out of the picture: He worked himself ragged every night (doing every little thing John told him to, unless it was to stick to a hotel room, which I doubt because while I know he's protective of his boys, I also know he put them in an enormous amount of deadly positions to feed his own selfish needs) so as not to even think about Sam. It, of course, didn't work, but the time Sam was at University, was the time that Dean was constantly on the edge of exhaustion. I know he says he's gotten tired, after the whole Dean-I'm-Drinking-Demon-Blood-For-The-Greater-Good bit Sam pulled (which Dean should've been more understanding of because seriously, Sam was killing things they had no other way of killing without either dying, or wasting ammunition they needed for more important things) but I don't think that was when he was his most tired. I think he was, he was driving himself a little crazy, which yes, can be exhausting, but I think he was trying to convince himself, or something, that he could give up. He was making an excuse for himself, possibly relating to another time when it was okay, good, even, not to think about Sam. He needed permission not to think of his brother, who was right there with him. Because he couldn't handle the fact that Sam had, I don't know... grown up/made his decisions/dealed with a demon/become something unnatural himself but this shouldn't be the problem because DEAN! We've been over how not everything unnatural is bad or evil!

Here from the challenge post - for your outline, have you ever used the snowflake method? It might be a good way to get started giving your story a shape.
